จึงได้ทรงกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯให้ยกบ้านคูประทายเป็น" เมืองประทายสมันต์ " และเลื่อนบรรดาศักดิ์หลวงสุรินทร์ภักดีเป็น

ในปี พุทรศักราช 2329 พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช ได้ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ
