สำหรับการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจและมีวิธีการเก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถาม ซึ่งผู้ทำการวิจัยได้กำหนดแนวทางในการดำเนินการวิจัยโดยมีลำดับขั้นตอนในการวิจัยและระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยในด้าน การกำหรดประชากร การสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่าง และการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลดังนี้
1.ประเภทการวิจัย การวิจัยในครั้งนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ โดยให้ผู้ตอบกรอกคำตอบเองในแบบสอบถาม
2.กลุ่มประชากรและลักษณะของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง การวิจัยครั้งนี้กลุ่มประชากรคือนิสิตในมหาวิทยาลัยทั้งนิสิตชายและนิสิตหญิงในชั้นปีต่างๆ จำนวน 100 คน
3.วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่าง การวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้ควา่มสะดวก ซึ่งเป็นการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบไม่ใช้ความน่าจะเป็น โดยจะทำการแจกแบบสอบถามตามกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ได้กำหนดไว้ โดยการสุ่มตัวอย่างในพื้นที่ต่างๆภายในมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา
