ผลกระทบต่อประเทศไทย
จากปัญหาต่างๆที่กล่าวมาแล้ว แม้ว่าประเทศไทยไม่ได้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับปัญหาความขัดแย้งในหมู่เกาะสแปรตลี่ย์ แต่หากปัญหาลุกลามเป็นปัญหาความขัดแย้งทางทหารถึงขั้นเผชิญหน้าและใช้กำลังกันระหว่างกำลังทางเรือของประเทศที่อ้างกรรมสิทธิ์ ย่อมส่งผลกระทบต่อเส้นทางคมนาคมคมหลักของภูมิภาค ที่จะส่งผลกระทบต่อความมั่นคงทางทะเลของไทยอย่างไม่ต้องสงสัย
