ปัจจุบันโครงการพัฒนาเขตเศรษฐกิจสามฝ่าย อินโดนีเซีย-มาเลเซีย-ไทย ได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนบริบทตามแผนที่นำทาง (IMT-GT Road Map)ที่ธนาคารพัฒนาเอเชีย (ADB) ได้จัดทำไว้ โดยสำนักงานคณะกรรมการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ ได้สร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจร่วมกันระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนใน 14 จังหวัดภาคใต้ และหน่วยงานภาครัฐใน 6 คณะทำงาน จนเกิดความก้าวหน้าของการดำเนินการ 6 รายสาขา ดังต่อไปนี้
