สิทธิมนุษยชน(Human Right)นั้น หมายถึง สิทธิในความเป็นมนุษย์ทั่วๆไป อย่างถ้าเกิดมาเป็นมนุษย์แล้ว ก็ย่อมถือว่ามี สิทธิอันติดตัวมาพร้อมกับการที่ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นมนุษย์อยู่แล้ว อันถือเป็นที่ยอมรักในสากลนานาชาติ เช่น กฎบัตรสหประชาชาติ หรือ ปฏิญญาสากลว่าด้วยสิทธิมนุษยชน (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights) ก็ได้เขียนไว้ในเรื่อง สิทธิมนุษยชนอย่างชัดเจน ในกฎหมายสูงสุดที่ใช้ในการปกครองประเทศ นั่นคือ กฎหมายรัฐธรรมนูญของไทย ก็ยังได้บัญญัติถึง หลักสิทธิมนุษยชน ว่าด้วยเรื่องสิทธิและ เสรีภาพของชนชาวไทย ซึ่งบัญญัติถึง สิทธิพื้นฐานของพลเมืองไทย

วันสิทธิมนุษยชน มีความสำคัญอย่างไร?
