สำหรับผม มันเป็นการก้าวหน้าอันยิ่งใหญ่ของประเทศไทย การเปิดประชาคมอาเซียนในปีพ.ศ.๒๕๕๘ หรือที่คนไทยพูดกันติด
ปากว่าอาเซียน ความหมายจริงๆของสิ่งนั้นคือ องค์กรระหว่างประเทศระดับภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อการร่วมมือกันทาง
เศรษฐกิจ สังคมและวัฒนธรรม สร้างสันติภาพในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งนำมาซึ่งเสถียรภาพทางการเมือง ความเจริญก้าวหน้าทาง
เศรษฐกิจ สังคมและวัฒนธรรม โดยวัตถุประสงค์หลักที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นมานั้น จะเกี่ยวกับการสร้างความเจริญรุ่งเรืองแก่ประเทศและประชาคมอาเซียน
และความเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งในวัตถุประสงค์นี้ประเทศไทยก็ได้รับประโยชน์อย่างมากมาย โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งด้วยความที่ประเทศไทย
มีการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจที่ดีอยู่แล้ว สิ่งนี้จะยิ่งทำให้ประเทศไทยนั้นเติบโตก้าวหน้าทางด้านเศรษฐกิจยิ่งๆขึ้นไปและวัตถุประสงค์ด้านอื่นๆ
เช่น การส่งเสริมการวิจัย จะทำให้การวิจัยของประเทศไทยมีความเจริญก้าวหน้า ทัดเทียมประเทศต่างๆได้ และการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน
ก็ยังมีข้อเสียอยุ่หลายด้าน เช่น การปรับเปลี่ยนเป็นหลักสูตรการศึกษาเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ซึ่งจะทำให้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนในหลักสูตรการ
ศึกษาไทยเช่นกัน การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้จะส่งผลต่อผู้ที่ยังไม่สำเร็จการศึกษา อาจพบปัญหาการเข้าเรียนต่อในระดับต่างๆและมีการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ
เป็นภาษากลาง อาจทำให้ผู้ที่ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษไม่คล่องลำบากในการใช้ชีวิตประจำวัน กับชาวต่างชาติที่เข้ามาในประเทศ
ประชาคมอาเซียนก็มีตั้งข้อดีและข้อเสีย แต่ข้อดีที่เราได้รับนั้นคือความก้าวหน้าครั้งใหญ่ของประเทศไทยและทวีปเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
และสามารถทัดเทียมกับประเทศทางตะวันตกได้อย่างไม่ยากเย็น
