วัดหนองบัว เป็นวัดราษฎร์ นิกายธรรมยุต อยู่อำเภอเมืองอุบลราชธานี ห่างจากศาลากลางจังหวัด ไปทางด้านทิศเหนือประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร บนถนนธรรมวิถี แยกจากถนนชยางกูร ไปทางทิศตะวันตก ประมาณ 500 เมตร สร้างเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2498 ภายในวัดมีสถาปัตยกรรมที่น่าสนใจ คือพระธาตุเจดีย์ศรีมหาโพธิ์ ที่สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเป็นสัญลักษณ์ครบรอบ 25 ศตวรรษของพุทธศาสนาในปี พ.ศ. 2500 พระธาตุเจดีย์ศรีมหาโพธิ์นั้น ได้จำลองแบบมาจากเจดีย์ที่พุทธคยา ประเทศอินเดีย เป็นสถานที่บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ รอบองค์พระธาตุเป็นกำแพงแก้ว
