อุทยานแห่งชาติคลองลาน ตั้งอยู่ในท้องที่อำเภอคลองลาน และอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดกำแพงเพชร ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ป่าคลองลานอันสมบูรณ์แหล่งสุดท้ายของจังหวัดกำแพงเพชร ประกอบด้วยภูเขาสูงชันสลับซับซ้อน เป็นป่าต้นน้ำลำธาร ต้นกำเนิดของน้ำหลายสาย เช่น คลองขลุง คลองสวนหมาก ซึ่งไหลรวมกันลงสู่แม่น้ำปิงและเป็นต้นน้ำ น้ำตกคลองลานไหลลงสู่คลองขลุง เนื้อที่ประมาณ 187,500 ไร่ ได้ประกาศจัดตั้งให้เป็น "อุทยานแห่งชาติคลองลาน" เมื่อวันที่ 25 ธันวาคม 2525
