งานวิจัยเรื่อง การใช้ชีวิตในวัยเรียนและวัยทำงาน ผู้วิจัยได้ศึกษาแนวคิด ทฤษฎี และเอกสารงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยแบ่งเป็นประเด็นต่างๆ ดังนี้
1) ความหมายการของการใช้ชีวิต
2) ชีวิตในวัยเรียน
3) ชีวิตในวัยทำงาน
4) เอกสารงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง

แนวคิด และทฤษฎี

การใช้ชีวิตในวัยเรียน
การเรียนการสอนในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัยนั้นจะมีอิสระกว่าการเรียนในระดับมัธยมศึกษานั่นคือ นักศึกษาจะมีจำนวนชั่วโมงเรียนที่น้อยลง มีตารางเรียนไม่ต่อเนื่องตลอดทั้งวัน นอกจากนี้นักศึกษายังมีอิสระในการเลือกเรียนวิชาต่าง ๆ ได้ โดยที่แต่ละวิชาอาจจะมีเวลาเริ่มและเลิกเรียนไม่ตรงกัน ทำให้ในแต่ละวันนักศึกษาจะมีเวลาว่างจากการเรียนมาก แต่เวลาที่ว่างมากขึ้นนี้อาจกลายเป็น "กับดัก" ที่ล่อให้นักศึกษาที่ไม่ได้วางแผนการใช้เวลาอย่างดีอาจประสบปัญหาในการเรียนและชีวิตส่วนตัวได้ ดังนั้นหากนักศึกษามีการวางแผนการใช้เวลาอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพแล้ว เวลาเหล่านั้นจะกลายเป็นเครื่องมือที่ดี ในการเก็บสะสมประสบการณ์ต่าง ๆ ได้อย่างมากมาย เช่น การร่วมกิจกรรมกับชมรมต่าง ๆ ที่เป็นความชอบ ความถนัดของนักศึกษา การทำงานพิเศษเพื่อหารายได้ การเรียนหลักสูตรพิเศษเพื่อประโยชน์ในอนาคต ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาษาต่างประเทศ โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ใหม่ ๆ รวมถึงการทำกิจกรรมที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสังคมเวลาว่างนอกเหนือจากการเข้าชั้นเรียนนั้น นักศึกษาควรตระหนักว่า เป็นดั่งโอกาสทองในการเตรียมตัวเพื่อการทำงานในอนาคต ดังนั้นจึงควรจะเก็บเกี่ยวประสบการณ์จากการทำกิจกรรมในขณะเรียนให้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะทำได้ เพราะสิ่งนี้ถือเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่จะช่วยพัฒนาชีวิตของนักศึกษาให้ครบทุกด้าน ซึ่งเป็นการแสวงหาความรู้นอกเหนือจากตำราเรียนเพียงด้านเดียว การทำกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ จะช่วยพัฒนาทักษะในการทำงานร่วมกับผู้อื่น ทำให้นักศึกษาได้รับประสบการณ์ที่หลากหลาย ซึ่งเป็นการสร้างความได้เปรียบกว่านักศึกษาที่มุ่งเรียนเพียงอย่างเดียว
