ชาติ : ด้วยความรักบ้านเมือง รักงานศิลป์ จึงหวังสร้างงานศิลปะที่ยิ่งใหญ่ไว้เป็นสมบัติของแผ่นดิน
ศาสนา : ธรรมะได้เปลี่ยนชีวิตของอาจารย์เฉลิมชัยจากจิตที่ร้อนกลายเป็นเย็น จึงขออุทิศตนให้แก่พระพุทธศาสนา
พระมหากษัตริย์ : จากการเข้าเฝ้าฯ ถวายงานพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชหลายครั้ง ทำให้เฉลิมชัยรักพระองค์ท่านมาก จากการพบเห็นพระอัจฉริยะภาพทางศิลปะและพระเมตตาของพระองค์ท่าน จนบังเกิดความตื้นตันและสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ จึงปรารถนาที่จะสร้างงานพุทธศิลป์ถวายเป็นงานศิลปะประจำรัชกาลพระองค์ท่าน
