ในสมัยก่อนมีพิธีอย่างหนึ่งคือ พิธีที่ข้าราชการทุกแผนก จะต้องสาบานตนว่าตนจะต้องรับราชการสนองพระเดชพระคุณด้วยความจงรักภักดี ปฏิบัติหน้าที่โดยสุจริต
