จัดเป็นอันดับ 7 ของเอเชีย และอันดับที่ 19 ของโลกในจำนวนนี้เป็นปริมาณสินค้าเพื่อการส่งออก (Total outbound and transit) กว่า 5.5แสนตันต่อปี ส่วนในด้านมูลค่านั้นประมาณว่าร้อยละ 10 ของมูลค่าส่งออกของไทยหรือประมาณ 3 แสนล้านบาทต่อปี
