การทบทวนวรรณกรรมนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวิธีการใช้สุคนธบำบัดในสตรีระยะคลอด เพื่อศึกษาชนิดของสุคนธบำบัดในสตรีระยะคลอด เพื่อนำความรู้ที่ได้ไปพัฒนาต่อเป็นแนวปฏิบัติในการใช้สุคนธบำบัดในสตรีระยะคลอด หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ที่สืบค้นได้เป็นบทความวิจัยภาษาอังกฤษจำนวน 1,233 ฉบับอยู่ระหว่างปีค.ศ.2010-2016 ทั้งหมดเป็นงานวิจัยแบบ RCT ผลการทบทวนวรรณกรรมพบว่า สุคนธบำบัดที่ใช้ในสตรีระยะคลอดได้แก่ ดอกลาเวนเดอร์ ดอกมะลิ ดอกเจเรเนียม ดอกซัลเวียและส้ม ใช้ในระยะที่ 1 ของการคลอด วิธีการใช้จะใช้ในรูปแบบของการนวดประคบ พร้อมกับใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหย การใช้กลิ่นสูดดม ผลของการใช้สุคนธบำบัดในสตรีระยะคลอดทำให้ผู้คลอดมีความปวด ในระยะปากใดลูกเปิดเร็วลดลง ช่วยให้กระบวนการคลอดในระยะที่ 1 มีความก้าวหน้าขึ้นโดยลดระยะเวลาคลอดแล้วช่วยลดความวิตกกังวลของสตรีระยะคลอด
