การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์แนวโน้มราคาข้าวหอมมะลิไทย พ.ศ. 2557-2559 โดยใช้ข้อมูลสถิติราคาข้าวหอมมะลิ เป็นรายเดือนตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2547-2556 รวมทั้งสิ้น 10 ปี การพยากรณ์ที่ใช้เป็นการพยากรณ์อนุกรมเวลาแบบแยกส่วน ซึ่งสมการที่ใช้ในการพยากรณ์คือ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในปี พ.ศ. 2557 มีราคาข้าวหอมมะลิเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 10.944 บาท ในปี พ.ศ. 2558 มีราคาข้าวหอมมะลิเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 11.4469 บาทใน ในปี พ.ศ. 2559 มีราคาข้าวหอมมะลิเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 11.9496 และมีความคลาดเคลื่อนของการพยากรณ์เท่ากับ 7.36 ซึ่งค่าพยากรณ์ที่ได้สามารถให้ทราบถึงราคาข้าวในอนาคต เพื่อจะใช้แนวทางในการวางแผนการผลิต การส่งออกสำหรับเกษตรกรและผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องในอนาคต
