การศึกษาครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิภาพวิธีการสอนแบบให้รางวัล ในการสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสกลนครตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐาน 80/80 เพื่อศึกษาความมั่นใจในการพูดภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาหลังการสอนแบบให้รางวัล เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาก่อนและหลังการเรียนรู้โดยใช้วิธีการสอนแบบให้รางวัล และเพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักศึกษาต่อวิธีการสอนแบบให้รางวัล วิธีการศึกษาได้ใช้แบบวิจัยพัฒนาเชิงทดลอง (Research and Development) ในลักษณะกลุ่มเดียวทดสอบก่อนเรียนและหลังการเรียน (One group pretest-post test design) กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือนักศึกษาที่เรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏสกลนคร ปีการศึกษา 2556 จำนวน 39 คน ได้มาโดยวิธีสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย (Simple random sampling)
