การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อเป็นการศึกษาถึงแรงจูงใจที่ส่งผลต่อการตัดสินใจเรียนกวดวิชาของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนศึกษานารี โดยทำการศึกษาในประเด็นแรงจูงใจด้านครูผู้สอน แรงจูงใจด้านบุคคลและแรงจูงใจด้านวิชาการ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับเรื่องแรงจูงใจที่ส่งผลต่อการตัดสินใจเรียนกวดวิชาของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายของโรงเรียนศึกษานารี โดยวิธีการสุ่มจากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 จำนวน 222 คน ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 5 จำนวน 229 คน และชั้นมัธยมศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 6 จำนวน 241 คน รวมทั้งสิ้น 692 คน และทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลที่ได้จากแบบสอบถาม
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า จากผู้ทำแบบสอบถามเป็นผู้หญิงจำนวน 442 คน แสดงให้เห็นว่าเพศหญิงให้ความสนใจในการตอบแบบสอบถามมากว่าเพศชายซึ่งมีจำนวน 250 คน ในด้านของรายได้ของครอบครัวซึ่งอาจจะมีส่วนในตัดสินใจในการเรียนกวดวิชาของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายของโรงเรียนศึกษานารี ผลของรายได้เฉลี่ยที่ได้คือ 47.5 เป็นรายได้ที่ได้ 30,000 บาทขึ้นไป โดยมีการแบ่งหัวข้อในการสอบถามนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายของโรงเรียนศึกษานารี ออกเป็น 3 หัวข้อดังนี้ 1.แรงจูงใจด้านครูผู้สอนเป็นเรื่องที่ครูผู้สอนช่วยให้บรรลุเป้าหมายในการเรียน (ค่าเฉลี่ย 4.23) 2. แรงจูงใจด้านบุคคลหรือสถาบันเป็นเรื่องที่โรงเรียนกวดวิชามีชื่อเสียงเป็นที่รู้จัก ( ค่าเฉลี่ย 3.73 ) 3. แรงจูงใจด้านวิชาการเป็นเรื่องความทำให้เกิดความมั่นใจในการทำข้อสอบ (ค่าเฉลี่ย 4.36 )
