ประวัติศาสตร์ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์บุรีรัมย์ เมืองแห่งความรื่นรมย์ตามความหมายของชื่อเมือง เป็นเมืองแห่งปราสาทหิน ดินแดนแห่งอารยธรรมขอมโบราณ ตั้งอยู่ในเขตภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือตอนล่าง ห่างจากกรุงเทพฯโดยทางรถยนต์ประมาณ 410 กิโลเมตร จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์มีเนื้อที่ทั้งสิ้น 10,321 ตารางกิโลเมตร แบ่งการปกครองออกเป็น 23 อำเภอ คือ อำเภอเมืองบุรีรัมย์ นางรอง ลำปลายมาศ ประโคนชัย พุทไธสง สตึก กระสัง บ้านกรวด คูเมือง ละหานทราย หนองกี่ ปะคำ นาโพธิ์ หนองหงส์ พลับพลาชัย ห้วยราช โนนสุวรรณ เฉลิมพระเกียรติ ชำนิ โนนดินแดง บ้านกรวด ละหานทราย บ้านใหม่ไชยพจน์ อำเภอแคนดง และอำเภอบ้านด่าน
