หมู่บ้านชิราคาวาโกะ (Shirakawa-go) หรือ หมู่บ้านโบราณสไตล์กัสโซ่ Gassho ช่วงฤดูหนาวสัมผัสธรรมชาติที่ถูกปกคลุมด้วยหิมะขาวโพลนดูสวยงามมหัศจรรย์แปลกตา “มรดกโลกชิราคาวาโกะ” หรือหมู่บ้านสไตล์Gassho-zukuri เป็นสไตล์ญี่ปุ่นดั้งเดิมแท้ๆ 
หมู่บ้านชิราคาวาโกะได้รับการยกย่องจากองค์การยูเนสโกให้เป็นมรดกโลกเมื่อปี 1995 มีชื่อว่า “ชิราคาวาโกะ” หมู่บ้านชาวนา  ซึ่งยังคงรักษาความเป็นธรรมชาติได้อย่างเหมือนเดิม
หมู่บ้านสไตล์กัสโซ-สึคุริ Gassho-zukuriเป็นสไตล์ญี่ปุ่นดั้งเดิม รูปร่างของหลังคาเหมือนสองมือพนมของพระพุทธเจ้า หรือ พระเจ้า จึงเรียกหมู่บ้านสไตล์นี้ว่า “Gassho” ซึ่งแปลว่า “พนมมือ” ตามรูปแบบของบ้านมีหลังคาชันถึง 60 องศา ลักษณะคล้ายสองมือที่พนมเข้าหากัน ตัวบ้านมีความยาว 18 เมตร กว้าง 10 เมตร โครงสร้างของบ้านไม่ใช้ตะปูแม้แต่ตัวเดียว แต่ยังคงความแข็งแรงสามารถรองรับหิมะที่ตกทับหลังคาในช่วงฤดูหนาวได้เป็นอย่างดี
