ความสำคัญและที่มาของปัญหาการวิจัย

การศึกษาเป็นเรื่องที่ได้รับการยอมรับและให้ความสำคัญ ในฐานะเป็นองค์ประกอบหนึ่งที่จะทำให้มนุษย์อยู่ร่วมกันในสังคมได้อย่างปกติสุข การศึกษาเป็นเทคนิคหรือเครื่องมือในการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ให้มีความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางค่านิยม เจตคติและวัฒนธรรมในสังคมทุกระดับไม่ว่าจะเป็นระดับหมู่บ้าน ตำบล อำเภอ จังหวัด ประเทศ และสังคมโลก อย่างไรก็ตาม การถ่ายทอดความรู้ เจตคติ และค่านิยมตลอดจนวัฒนธรรมทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นจากกิจกรรมทุกอย่างด้านการศึกษา ได้ถูกดำเนินการโดยสถาบันและองค์การต่างๆ โดยแนวทางและยุทธวิธีที่แตกต่างกัน หรืออาจจะกล่าวได้อีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า บรรดากิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่จัดขึ้นในองค์การและช่วยให้การดำเนินงานไปได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ย่อมเกิดจาก การบริหารการศึกษา (Education Administration )

การบริหารการศึกษา เป็นความพยายามที่จัดดำเนินงานเกี่ยวกับเรื่องของการศึกษา อันได้แก่ สถานศึกษา หลักสูตร ครู อาจารย์ นักเรียน นักศึกษา วัสดุอุปกรณ์ต่าง ๆ ตำราเรียน และอาคารสถานที่ ตลอดจนเทคโนโลยีต่าง ๆ เป็นต้น ให้เป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ หรืออาจจะกล่าวว่า เป็นความพยายามที่จะจัดดำเนินงานทุกอย่างที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการศึกษาโดยให้มีผลผลิต คือ นักเรียน นักศึกษา ให้มีคุณภาพสูงสุด การดำเนินการดังกล่าวจึงต้องอาศัยศาสตร์และศิลป์ของผู้บริหารและผู้ร่วมงานที่มีความรู้ ความสามารถที่จะจัดกิจกรรมให้สอดคล้องกับวัตถุประสงค์ โดยอาศัยหลักการและทฤษฎีทางการบริหารการศึกษาให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงมีความจำเป็นที่ผู้บริหารและผู้ร่วมงานจะต้องเรียนรู้ เข้าใจ และสามารถประยุกต์ใช้หลักการและแนวทางการบริหารการศึกษาได้อย่างเหมาะสมกิจกรรมและสถานการณ์ต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมที่มีความเปลี่ยนแปลงอยู่ตลอดเวลา

การบริหารการศึกษาเป็นศาสตร์ที่มีการศึกษาค้นคว้าของนักวิชาการทางสาขาการบริหารการศึกษา ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศมายาวนานพอสมควร เพื่อให้ทราบถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงของหลักการ แนวคิดทฤษฎี และการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม เศรษฐกิจและการเมือง ซึ่งการศึกษาค้นคว้าของนักวิชาการทางสาขาการบริหารการศึกษา มักจะใช้ “การวิจัย” เป็นแนวทางในการศึกษาและแสวงหาความรู้ นอกจากนั้นยังมีนักศึกษาและอาจารย์ในมหาวิทยาลัยทั้งในและต่างประเทศได้ศึกษาค้นคว้า และวิจัยในรูปแบบของปริญญานิพนธ์หรือวิทยานิพนธ์ไว้มากมาย

การวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษาดังกล่าวมีเนื้อหาสาระ รูปแบบ และวิธีการหลากหลาย เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามช่วงเวลา จึงมีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาสาระ จัดกลุ่ม และจัดประเภทงานวิจัยในกลุ่มนั้น ๆ เพื่อให้ได้สารสนเทศที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้ศึกษาค้นคว้า และผู้แสวงหาแนวทางการวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษาดังกล่าวมีเนื้อหาสาระ รูปแบบ และวิธีการหลากหลาย เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามช่วงเวลา จึงมีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาสาระ จัดกลุ่ม และจัดประเภทงานวิจัยในกลุ่มนั้น ๆ เพื่อให้ได้สารสนเทศที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้ศึกษาค้นคว้า และผู้แสวงหาแนวทาง การวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษา ผู้วิจัยในฐานะนักวิชาการ สาขาการบริหารการศึกษา และอาจารย์ในสาขานี้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญดังกล่าว จึงได้วิเคราะห์งานวิจัยจากปริญญานิพนธ์หรือวิทยานิพนธ์ รายงานวิจัย และ Dissertation Abstracts International โดยเน้นการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาสาระ จัดกลุ่ม และจัดประเภทงานวิจัยในกลุ่มนั้น เพื่อยังประโยชน์ต่อนักศึกษาสาขาการบริหารการศึกษา และสาขาอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้อง นักวิชาการบริหารการศึกษา และผู้ศึกษาค้นคว้าที่สนใจ เพื่อการวิจัยทางสาขาการบริหารการศึกษาต่อไป

ความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัย
เพื่อศึกษาและวิเคราะห์งานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการบริหารการศึกษา จัดกลุ่ม และประเภทของงานวิจัยโดยเน้นให้ได้สาระที่เป็นประโยชน์แก่ผู้ศึกษาและผู้ที่ต้องการแนวทางการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการบริหารการศึกษา

ประโยชน์ที่คาดว่าจะได้รับจากการวิจัย
งานวิจัยนี้ให้ประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาและผู้สนใจทางด้านการบริหารการศึกษา ดังนี้
1. ได้รับทราบแนวทางการดำเนินการวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษาในประเทศไทย
2. ได้ทราบลักษณะและประเภทของงานวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษา และแนวโน้มของการดำเนินการวิจัยเพื่อพัฒนาการบริหารการศึกษาในปัจจุบัน และอนาคต

ขอบเขตของการวิจัย
การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการบริหารการศึกษา ซึ่งมีขอบเขตของการวิจัย ดังนี้
1. เนื้อหาของการวิจัยเป็นการศึกษาการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการบริหารการศึกษา ที่เป็นปริญญานิพนธ์หรือวิทยานิพนธ์ และรายงานการวิจัยทางการบริหารการศึกษา ภายในประเทศ และ Dissertation Abstracts International
