รายงานวิจัยเรื่องสถิติคนหายในประเทศไทยในรอบ 6 ปี (2553 - 2558)
มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสาเหตุการหายตัวไปของคน
โดยศึกษาสจากศูนย์ข้อมูลคนหาย มูลนิธิกระจกเงา ซึ่งผลวิจัยปรากฏว่าสาเหตุส่วนใหญ่เกิดจากปัญหาครอบครัว จึงทำให้มีการหนีออกจากบ้านแล้วหายตัวไป หรือเรียกว่า การหายตัวไปแบบสมัครใจ ซึ่งมีจำนวนคนหายตัวไปมากที่สุด จำนวนคนหายตัวไปทั้งหมด 2745 คน โดยแบ่งเป็นผู้ชายจำนวน 1159 คน ผู้หญิงจำนวน 1586 คน การสำรวจข้อมูลจากศูนย์ข้อมูลคนหาย มูลนิธิกระจกเงา มีการเก็บข้อมูลสาเหตุของคนหายข้อมูลที่เป็นตัวเลข โดยจะนำมาหาค่าร้อยละและค่าเฉลี่ยแยกสาเหตุของการหายตัวไป คือ การหายตัวไปแบบสมัครใจ, แย่งความปกครองบุตร, เด็กพลัดหลง, ถูกลักพาตัว,โรคสมองเสื่อม, อุบัติเหตุ, ขาดการติดต่อ และสาเหตุอื่นๆ
ซึ่งในปี 2553 มีจำนวนคนหาย 198, 0, 0, 7, 63, 0, 28 และ 168 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 8.15, 0, 0, 0.29, 2.6, 0, 1.15 และ 7 ตามลำดับ
