ประวัติความเป็นมา
วัดพระธาตุผาแก้ว ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2547 ในนาม"พุทธธรรมสถานผาซ่อนแก้ว" ได้รับการอนุมัติจัดตั้งเป็นวัดในมงคลนามว่า"วัดพระธาตุผาแก้ว"เมืีอวันที่ 1 ก.ค. 2553 จากคณะกรรมการมหาเถรสมาคม โดยมีพระครูสังฆรักษ์ ปารมี สุรยุทโธ เป็นเจ้าอาวาส
วัดพระธาตุผาแก้ว ตั้งอยู่ในชัยภูมิธรรม ณ. บริเวณเนินเขาในหมู่บ้านทางแดง ต.แคมป์สน อ.เขาค้อ จ.เพชรบูรณ์ โดย คุณภาวิณี และ คุณอุไร โชติกูล ได้มีจิตศรัทธาซื้อที่ดินถวายเริ่มแรกจำนวน 25 ไร่ เพื่อก่อสร้างเป็นสถานที่ปฏิบัติธรรมแก่พระสงฆ์ และพุทธศาสนิกชนทั่วไป ปัจจุบันมีผู้ร่วมถวายปัจจัยซื้อที่ดินเพิ่มรวมทั้งสิ้นมีที่ดินรวม 91 ไร่
พระครูสังฆรักษ์ปารมี สุรยุทโธ และ พระครูใบฎีกาอำนาจ โอภาโส สองครูบาอาจารย์คู่บุญคู่บารมี ร่วมกับคณะศิษยานุศิษย์และเหล่าผู้มีจิตศรัทธาจากทั่วประเทศได้ร่วมกันจัดสร้างเสนาสนะ กุฏิที่พักสงฆ์ อาคารปฎิบัติและบรรยายธรรม รวมถึงอาคารที่พักของผู้มาภาวนาเพื่อรองรับคณะผู้มีจิตศรัทธาจากทุกแห่งหนทีหลั่งไหลกันเข้ามาอบรมภาวนาในแนวสติปัฎฐานสี่ แห่งองค์พระบรมศาสดาสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้ากันอย่างต่อเนื่อง เป็นที่ปิติยินดียิ่งของครูบาอาจารย์กับเหล่าบรรดาศิษยานุศิษย์ที่ได้ร่วมแรงร่วมใจ..สละทั้งแรงกายและแรงทรัพย์ในการจัดสร้าง และสมกับคุณค่าแห่งความเสียสละ ความอุตสาหะ วิริยะ และมุ่งมั่นตั้งใจที่ได้ตั้งไว้โดยชอบแล้ว...
สถานที่อันเป็นธรรมภูมิที่งดงาม ซึ่งเรียกว่าผาซ่อนแก้วนี้ มีธรรมชาติเป็นภูเขาที่สูงใหญ่ ซ้อนกันเป็นทิวเขาเรียงรายโอบรอบบริเวณศาลาปฏิบัติธรรม และบนยอดเขาสูงตระหง่านนั้น มีถ้ำอยู่บนปลายยอดเขา ซึ่งมีชาวบ้านทางแดงหลายคน ได้เห็นลูกแก้วลอยเหนือฟากฟ้า และลับหายเข้าไปในถ้ำบนยอดผา ชาวบ้านเชื่อว่าเป็นพระบรมสารีริกธาตุเสด็จมา และต่างถือว่าเป็นสถานที่มงคล มีความศักดิ์สิทธิ์และเรียกตามๆ กันว่า "ผาซ่อนแก้ว" และพุทธสถานที่มาตั้งในจุดที่โอบล้อมด้วยทิวเขาดังกล่าว จึงเรียกว่า "พุทธธรรมสถานผาซ่อนแก้ว" เพื่อเป็นนิมิตมงคลแก่ชาวบ้านทางแดง และผู้มาปฏิบัติธรรมสืบไป
วัตถุประสงค์การสร้าง
เพื่อเป็นที่สอนปฏิบัติการเจริญสติปัฏฐาน ๔ ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจของพระพุทธศาสนา ตามคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้า ที่ทรงชี้ว่าเป็นทางสายเอกที่นำไปสู่ความบริสุทธิ์ของกายและใจ ความดับทุกข์ การเข้าถึงมรรคและพระนิพพาน
