เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติ สมเด็จ พระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรม ราชกุมารี ในโอกาสทรงเจริญพระชนมายุ 5 รอบ 2 เมษายน 2558 และเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์สถานแห่งความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างไทยและญี่ปุ่นที่มีมายาวนานกว่า 600 ปี สมาคมไทย-ญี่ปุ่น จึงร่วมกับ โตโยต้ามอเตอร์ (ประเทศไทย) จัดทำโครงการศูนย์แสดงนิทรรศการถาวรและมัลติมีเดีย นำเสนอเรื่องราวของ “ยามาดะ นางามาซะ (ออกญาเสนาภิมุข) และท้าวทองกีบม้า” 2 บุคคลสำคัญที่มีเชื้อสายญี่ปุ่นและมีบทบาทในราชสำนักอยุธยา ที่อาคารนิทรรศการริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ในบริเวณหมู่บ้านเดิมของชนชาติญี่ปุ่นในกรุงศรีอยุธยา โดย สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ ได้เสด็จฯเปิดนิทรรศการอย่างเป็นทางการ เมื่อวันที่ 10 ก.พ.ที่ผ่านมา
