ประสิทธิภาพในการให้น้ำของการชลประทานฉีดฝอยอยู่ระหว่าง 75-85 เปอร์เซ็นต์ โดยมีอุปกรณ์ที่เป็นส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญของการให้น้ำแบบฉีดฝอย (รูปที่ 9.3) ดังนี้

1) เครื่องสูบน้ำ (pumping unit) ทำหน้าที่สูบน้ำจากแหล่งน้ำและเพิ่มความดันให้กับหัวจ่ายน้ำ

2) ท่อประธาน (mainline pipe unit) ทำหน้าที่ส่งน้ำจากเครื่องสูบน้ำไปสู่ท่อแยก

3) ท่อแยก (lateral pipe unit) ทำหน้าที่ส่งน้ำจากท่อประธานให้กับหัวจ่ายน้ำ

4) หัวจ่ายน้ำ (sprinkler unit) ทำหน้าที่จ่ายน้ำให้กับพืชปลูก โดยส่วนใหญ่จะจ่ายน้ำโดยการหมุนหัวฉีดเป็นวงกลมในแนวราบ
