การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกสถาบันกวดวิชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา เขตอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ เก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถามจากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนชายและหญิงระดับมัธยมศึกษาในเขตอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี จำนวน 395 คน ทำการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ ประกอบด้วย ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบ t-test และ F-test และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว (One - Way ANOVA) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
นักศึกษาที่เรียนกวดวิชาส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง มีอายุระหว่าง 13-15 ปี อยู่ในระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น แผนการเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์-คณิตศาสตร์ ผลการเรียนเฉลี่ยสะสม อยู่ระหว่าง 3.00-3.50 ผู้ปกครองประกอบอาชีพค้าขายหรือธุรกิจส่วนตัว ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับพฤติกกรมการเรียนกวดวิชาพบว่า นักเรียนที่เรียนกวดวิชาส่วนใหญ่ใช้เวลาเรียนกวดวิชาโดยเฉลี่ย น้อยกว่า 5 ชั่วโมงต่อสัปดาห์ ค่าใช้จ่ายในการเรียนโดยเฉลี่ยต่อเทอม อยู่ระหว่าง 1,001-5,000 บาท วิชาที่นักเรียนนิยมเรียนมากที่สุดคือ วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ วัตถุประสงค์ที่เลือกเรียนเพื่อทำเกรด เหตุผลในการเรียนกวดวิชาเพื่อให้ผลการเรียนดีขึ้น ปัจจัยส่วนประสมทางการตลาดโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกสถาบันกวดวิชาของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษา อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ มีด้วยกัน 4 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ อายุ ระดับชั้นการศึกษา แผนการเรียนและคะแนนเฉลี่ยสะสมของนักเรียน
