การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจต่อการได้รับสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุของเทศบาลตำบลบ้านเกาะ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดอุตรดิตถ์ และเพื่อเปรียบเทียบความพึงพอใจที่มีต่อการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมแก่ผู้สูงอายุ ภายในกลุ่ม ผู้สูงอายุ ที่รับสวัสดิการสังคม จำแนกตามตัวแปร เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา สถานภาพการสมรส สภาวะสุขภาพ และผู้ช่วยเหลือดูแล กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ผู้สูงอายุที่ได้รับสวัสดิการสังคมจากเทศบาลตำบลบ้านเกาะ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดอุตรดิตถ์ จำนวน 302 คน ใช้วิธีการสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างของของ ทาโร ยามาเน (Taro Yamane ,1973) เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสอบถามมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ สอบถามความพึงพอใจต่อการได้รับสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุใน 6 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านสุขภาพและการรักษาพยาบาล ด้านอาชีพและรายได้ ด้านนันทนาการ ด้านการศึกษา ด้านความมั่นคงทางสังคมครอบครัว ด้านการให้บริการของเจ้าหน้าที่ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน โดยแบบสอบถามมีค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .95 ใช้การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลแบบสถิติอนุมาน (Independent Samples T-test) และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว (One-way ANOVA)
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผู้สูงอายุมีความพึงพอใจต่อการได้รับสวัสดิการของผู้สูงอายุของเทศบาลตำบลบ้านเกาะ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดอุตรดิตถ์ โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน โดยเรียงลำดับตามค่าเฉลี่ยจากมากไปน้อยพบว่า อยู่ในระดับปานกลางทุกด้าน
