การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงบรรยาย (Descriptive) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพการใช้เวลาว่าง ปัญหาการใช้เวลาว่าง และเปรียบเทียบการใช้เวลาว่างของนักศึกษาพยาบาล จำแนกตามระดับชั้นปี ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ นักศึกษาพยาบาล วิทยาลัยพยาบาลบรมราชชนนี สวรรค์ประชารักษ์ นครสวรรค์ ที่ศึกษาในปีการศึกษา 2553 จำนวน 782 คน การวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้กลุ่มตัวอย่าง 272 คน โดยทำการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งชั้น เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย เป็นแบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป และแบบสอบถามเกี่ยวกับสภาพและปัญหาการใช้เวลาว่างของนักศึกษา และหาความเชื่อมั่นของแบบสอบถามโดยใช้สัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟ่าของครอนบาค เท่ากับ .91 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยหาค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน หาค่าเอฟ (F-test) และทดสอบเป็นรายคู่โดยใช้ LSD
ผลการศึกษา พบว่า
1.นักศึกษามีการใช้เวลาว่าง อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง มีค่าเฉลี่ย 2.73 (S.D. = .47) การใช้เวลาว่างด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือ ด้านกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร มีค่าเฉลี่ย 3.50 (S.D. = .75) อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ส่วนด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำสุด คือ ด้านกิจกรรมอาสาสมัคร มีค่าเฉลี่ย 2.11 (S.D. = .82) อยู่ในระดับน้อย
2. นักศึกษามีปัญหาการใช้เวลาว่าง อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง มีค่าเฉลี่ย 3.13 (S.D. = .54)
3.มีนักศึกษาอย่างน้อย 2 ชั้นปี ที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยของการใช้เวลาว่างด้านการเรียน ด้านกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร และปัญหาการใช้เวลาว่างแตกต่างกันที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ .05 (F = 8.076, 4.718 และ 3.803 ตามลำดับ) ส่วนการใช้เวลาว่างด้านนันทนาการ ด้านบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ของนักศึกษาแต่ละชั้นปีไม่แตกต่างกัน (F = .247 และ .525 ตามลำดับ)
4. เมื่อทดสอบเป็นรายคู่ พบว่า นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 และชั้นปีที่ 3 , นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 และชั้นปีที่ 4 มีการใช้เวลาว่างด้านการเรียนแตกต่างกัน (3.900 และ -3.615 ตามลำดับ) นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 และชั้นปีที่ 4, นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 และชั้นปีที่ 4, นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 และชั้นปีที่ 4 มีการใช้เวลาว่างด้านกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรแตกต่างกัน (4.857, 4.544 และ 2.723 ตามลำดับ)นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 และชั้นปีที่ 3, นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 และชั้นปีที่ 4 มีปัญหาการใช้เวลาว่างแตกต่างกัน (-2.507 และ 2.617 ตามลำดับ)
