ปัจจุบันเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ได้แพร่เข้าสู่สังคมไทยค่อนข้างกว้างขวาง และนอกจากนี้ความต้องการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตยังได้รับความนิยมทั่วประเทศ โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มนักเรียนชั้นมัธยม ซึ่งสามารถใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตในการค้นคว้าหาข้อมูลเพื่อทำรายงาน ข้อมูลต่างๆ รวมถึงการใช้ช่องทางเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ในการติดต่อสื่อสารกับบุคคลอื่นๆ การศึกษาเรื่องพฤติกรรมการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์: กรณีศึกษานักเรียนชั้นมัธยมตอนปลาย อ.วังโป่ง จ.เพชรบูรณ์ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมปลายและการศึกษาลักษณะความแตกต่างและความต้องการในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์รวมถึงแนวโน้มในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ในปัจจุบัน กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้แก่นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายอ.วังโป่ง จ.เพชรบูรณ์ จำนวน 150 คนโดยระยะเวลาในการดำเนินการวิจัยตั้งแต่ เดือน ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2556 ถึงเดือนมกราคม พ.ศ.2557
