พันโท วันชนะ สวัสดี (ชื่อเล่น: เบิร์ด) เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 26 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2515 ที่จังหวัดลำปาง แต่ได้ย้ายมาอาศัยและเติบโตที่จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี[1] จบการศึกษาชั้นมัธยมศึกษาจาก โรงเรียนวิสุทธรังษี จบการศึกษาจากโรงเรียนเตรียมทหาร รุ่นที่ 34 ปริญญาตรีวิศวกรรมศาสตรบัณฑิต (วิศวกรรมอุตสาหการ ) โรงเรียนนายร้อยพระจุลจอมเกล้า (จปร.) รุ่นที่ 45 (รุ่นเดียวกับ ร.อ.รชฏ พิสิษฐบรรณกร อดีต ส.ส.กรุงเทพ พรรคไทยรักไทย) และปริญญาโทคณะนิเทศศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกริก
