lost in translation หนังที่อยู่ในใจของใครหลายๆคน หนังที่มีฉากจบเป็นปริศนาที่ยังคาใจมาจนทุกวันนี้ อาจจะมีบางตอนที่ดูน่าเบื่อ แต่โดยรวมแล้วหนังเรื่องนี้คือดีมาก หนังเรื่องนี้ดำเนินเรื่องด้วยตัวละครหลักอยู่ 2 คน คือ บ๊อบ แฮร์ริส และ ชาร์ล็อตต์ คนต่างชาติสองคนที่ต้องมาอยู่ต่างบ้านต่างเมือง ด้วยวัฒนธรรม สภาพแวดล้อมและอะไรหลายๆอย่าง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นบรรยากาศ แสง สี วิถีการเป็นอยู่ของคนในโตเกียว ดูจะเป็นเรื่องยากที่ปรับตัวให้ชินได้ จึงทำให้ตัวละครทั้งคู่รู้สึกเหงา โดดเดี่ยว และเหมือนถูกทิ้ง และด้วยความเหงานี้เองทำให้คนทั้งคู่ได้มาเจอกัน เพราะด้วยเป็นคนที่มีเชื้อชาติอเมริกันเหมือนกันและความรู้สึกที่ว่าโดนทิ้ง จึงทำให้ตัวละครสองตัวนี้เข้ากันได้ดี ถึงแม้เค้าทั้งคู่จะดูอายุห่างกันแต่ด้วยช่วงเวลาที่กำลังเหงา พวกเค้าต่างมีอีกคนเข้ามาเติมเต็ม ทำให้ได้เกิดความสัมพันธ์บางอย่างขึ้นมา อาจจะเรียกได้ว่าเป็นความสัมพันธ์ที่ไม่มีชื่อเรียก ทำให้เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของหนังเรื่องนี้
