การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ ๑) เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นที่มีต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ของพนักงานเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูน ๒) เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลกับความคิดเห็นที่มีต่อการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ๓) เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาอุปสรรคและข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง และ ๔) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการนำหลักอิทธิบาท ๔ มาพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยการวิจัยแบบผสม (Mixed Methods) ซึ่งประชากรและกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ พนักงานเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ และ คณะผู้บริหารเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูน มีจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 125 คน โดยเก็บจากทุกหน่วยของประชากร และเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม (Questionnaire) และทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปเพื่อการวิจัยทางสังคมศาสตร์ เพื่อหาค่าความถี่ (Frequency) ค่าร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) และค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard Deviation) และทำการทดสอบสมมติฐานด้วยสถิติทดสอบไคสแควร์ (Chi – Square Test) ( ) ในส่วนของข้อคำถามปลายเปิดที่แสดงปัญหาอุปสรรค และข้อเสนอแนะ ผู้วิจัยทำการจัดกลุ่มตามประเด็นที่กำหนดไว้ในแบบสอบถามปลายเปิด จากนั้นจะทำการวิเคราะห์ โดยใช้การแจกแจงความถี่ (Frequency) และข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ ผู้วิจัยจะทำการจัดกลุ่มข้อมูลตามสาระสำคัญของประเด็นการสัมภาษณ์ จากนั้นทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงเนื้อหา

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
1. ระดับความคิดเห็นทางการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของพนักงานเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูน พบว่า พนักงานเทศบาลผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามมีระดับความคิดเห็นทางการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ค่าเฉลี่ยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (µ = ๓.๘๕) เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า ทุกด้านมีระดับความคิดเห็นในการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง อยู่ในระดับมาก ค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด (µ = 3.95) ในด้านความรู้และด้านคุณธรรม ส่วนค่าเฉลี่ยต่ำสุด (µ = 3.62) ในด้านการมีภูมิคุ้มกันที่ดี
2. การศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลกับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของพนักงานเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ การทดสอบสมมติฐานโดยการวิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างตามการจำแนกตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล พบว่า เพศและระดับการศึกษา มีความสัมพันธ์กับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ส่วนปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลด้านอายุ สถานภาพ รายได้ต่อเดือนและระยะเวลาในการทำงาน พบว่า ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง
3. ผลการศึกษาปัญหาอุปสรรค และข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตในการทำงานตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงของพนักงานเทศบาลตำบลอุโมงค์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูน สรุปได้ว่า การทำงานต่างๆ ของพนักงานยังไม่มีการวางแผนเท่าที่ควร เพราะบางครั้งมีงานอื่นเข้ามาแทรก จึงทำให้ไม่มีเวลาในการวางแผนกลยุทธ์ในการทำงาน และบางคนขาดความรู้ ทักษะเฉพาะด้าน รวมถึงบางคนขาดความมีน้ำใจต่อเพื่อร่วมงานด้วย ซึ่งควรมีการวางแผนการทำงานทั้งในเชิงรุกและเชิงกลยุทธ์ รวมทั้งการฝึกอบรมความรู้ต่างๆ เพื่อการพัฒนาทักษะในการทำงานและการส่งเสริมคุณธรรมจริยธรรม ความมีน้ำใจในการทำงานร่วมกันด้วย
4. ผลการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ พบว่า ผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญส่วนใหญ่เน้นในเรื่องของการดำเนินชีวิตด้านเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงอย่างรู้คุณค่าของการใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างคุ้มค่าและประหยัดที่สุด รู้จักการใช้เหตุผลในการทำงานเพื่อเสริมสร้างภูมิคุ้มกันในตัวที่ดี เพื่อทำให้การทำงานมีคุณภาพ รวมถึงการใช้ความรู้และคุณธรรมในการเสริมสร้างการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด
