กลุ่มประชาการที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ ข้าราชการข้าราชการทหารบกประจำการ ณ กรมการทหารสื่อสาร กรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งเป็นข้าราชการทหารบกที่มีสัญชาติไทยและรวมทั้งพลทหาร (ทหารเกณฑ์) ไม่รวมถึงข้าราชการทหารบกที่มีสัญชาติอื่นๆ ที่ไม่ใช่สัญชาติไทย ลูกจ้าง พนักงานผู้ประกอบการร้านค้าภายในกรมการทหารสื่อสาร กรุงเทพมหานคร ทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ มีจำนวนทั้งหมด 950 คน
โดยผู้วิจัยได้ใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างอย่างง่าย (Simple Random Sampling) กำหนดขนาดของกลุ่มตัวอย่างข้าราชการข้าราชการทหารบกใช้ประมาณขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างด้วยความเชื่อมั่น 95% ค่าความคาดเคลื่อนเท่ากับ .05 คำนวณจากสูตร Taro Yamane (Yamane 1973:727-728, อ้างถึงใน เมธิยา กอสนาน 2552: 23) ที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 95% ได้ขนาดตัวอย่างจำนวน 281 คน
