ขั้นตอนที่1 การเตรียมเอกสารรถกับขนส่งทางบก ว่าด้วย พาสปอร์ตรถ
ระเบียบการทำพาสปอร์ตรถ
การขนส่งทางถนนในต่างประเทศ รถทุกคันต้องมีหนังสือเดินทาง ประจำรถคันนั้นๆ เพื่อตรวจสอบได้อยู่ตลอดเวลา พร้อมกับติดสติกเกอร์เป็นภาษาอังกฤษตัว T ที่ย่อมาจากคำว่า "ไทยแลนด์" ที่กระจกด้านหน้าคนขับ หนังสือเดินทางหรือพาสปอร์ตประจำรถ ติดต่อขอทำได้ที่ขนส่งจังหวัด มีหลักฐานดังนี้ กรณีบุคคลธรรมดา
• สำเนาบัตรประชาชนและสำเนาทะเบียนบ้าน
• สำเนารายการจดทะเบียนรถและหน้ารายการชำระภาษี
• หนังสือมอบอำนาจจากเจ้าของรถ กรณีที่เจ้าของไม่มาด้วยตนเอง
• ยื่นคำขออื่นๆ
2. กรณีห้างหุ้นส่วนฯ บริษัทฯ และบริษัทจำกัดมหาชน หรือรถที่ติดไฟแนนซ์
• หนังสือรับรองบริษัท /ห้างฯ
• สำเนาทะเบียนบ้านและบัตรประชาชนของกรรมการผู้จัดการที่มีอำนาจ
• สำเนารายการจดทะเบียนรถและหน้ารายการชำระภาษี
• หนังสือมอบอำนาจ (กรณีที่ไม่มาด้วยตนเอง) หรือผู้เช่าซื้อ
• ยื่นคำขออื่น ๆ

ขึ้นตอนที่ 2 การยื่นเอกสารกับด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง ฝั่งไทย ณ ด่านที่จะนำรถออก
โดยกรอกเอกสารแบบคำขอรายการเกี่ยวกับพาหนะ (ตม. ๒) และ แบบคำขอบัญชีคนโดยสาร (ตม. ๓) รถ 1คัน ต้องมีแบบคำขอ ตม.2 และตม.3 อย่างละ 2 แผ่น เพื่อดำเนินการทั้งขาออกและขาเข้า
เอกสารประกอบมีดังนี้
1.สำเนาทะเบียนรถ พร้อมหน้าเสียภาษี
2.สำเนาใบขับขี่ ผู้นำรถออกไป
3.ในกรณีข้ามไป สปป.ลาว ต้องมีพาสปอร์ตรถ
4.ในกรณีเจ้าของรถแต่ไม่ไช่คนนำออก ต้องมีหนังสือมอบอำนาจนำรถออกด้วยดังนี้
หนังสือมอบอำนาจนำรถออกนอกราชอาณาจักร และ อากรแสตมป์ 10 บาท ในกรณีเจ้าของรถไม่ได้ขับรถเองหรือ รถติดไฟแนนซ์อยู่ ,สำเนาทะเบียนบ้าน บัตรประชาชนผู้มอบอำนาจ เจ้าของรถหรือผู้มีอำนาจลงนามของไฟแนนซ์ พร้อมลายเซ็นรับรอง,ในกรณีรถยังติดไฟแนนซ์ ต้องมีหนังสือรับรองการจดทะเบียนของไฟแนนซ์ประกอบไปด้วย ,สำเนาทะเบียนบ้าน และบัตรประชาชนผู้รับมอบอำนาจ (ผู้นำรถออก)
เอกสารทั้งหมดยื่นพร้อม ต.ม 2 และ ต.ม 3 ณ ด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมืองที่นำรถออก ในเวลาราชการ เสาร์-อาทิตย์ หรือนอกเวลาราชการ เสียค่าล่วงเวลาอีกสำหรับรถยนต์ คันละ 100 บาท

ขั้นตอนที่ 3 ยื่นขอกับด่านศุลกากร ฝั่งไทย ณ.ด่านที่ต้องการนำรถยนต์ออก
