เปิดตัวสโตร์ปลอดคาร์บอนฯแห่งแรกในประเทศไทยและภูมิภาคเอเชียที่ตำบลบางพระ อำเภอศรีราชา จังหวัดชลบุรี นับเป็นการพิสูจน์ให้เห็นถึงความพยายามในการสนับสนุนสังคมและเศรษฐกิจไทยควบคู่ไปกับการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมแบบยั่งยืนของเทสโก้ โลตัส โดยสโตร์แห่งนี้ จะไม่มีการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ (ปลอดคาร์บอนฯ) ออกมาจากขั้นตอนการทำงานของสโตร์ ซึ่งเป็นการผสานองค์ความรู้จากสโตร์อนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมที่มีอยู่เดิมของบริษัทฯ ผนวกกับการใช้นวัตกรรมด้านการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมใหม่ๆ ที่หลากหลาย อาทิเช่น การใช้หลอดไฟ LED ที่ใช้ปริมาณไฟฟ้าต่ำ ระบบทำความเย็นที่ใช้สารไฮโดรคาร์บอน ตัวอาคารที่ออกแบบเพื่อให้พื้นที่มีการรับแสงจากธรรมชาติมาใช้ได้มากที่สุด กังหันลมและฟาร์มโซลาร์เซลล์เพื่อผลิตพลังงานไฟฟ้าเพื่อป้อนสู่ตัวสโตร์ ตลอดจนบ่อกักเก็บน้ำฝนเพื่อใช้ในการล้างรถและการกดชักโครก
