การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาแบบ Mixed methods research คือการใช้ประยุกต์ใช้ Survey Research ซึ่งเป็น Quantitative Methodology และ Qualitative Methodology โดยการสัมภาษณ์ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามที่ผ่านการทดสอบมาตรฐานแล้ว
เป็นเครื่องมือประกอบการสำรวจดำเนินการเก็บข้อมูลแบบสื่อสาร 2 ทาง ใช้วิธีการเก็บแบบ Mix Collect Data โดยใช้ทั้งการแจกแบบสอบถามให้กับกลุ่มเป้าหมาย และการสัมภาษณ์แบบตัวต่อตัว
โดยศึกษาในกลุ่มประชาชนทั่วไปที่มีอายุ 11 ปีขึ้นไป ดำเนินการสุ่มตัวอย่างโดยคัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่่งในเขตกรุงเทพและปริมณฑล และจังหวัดที่เป็นตัวแทนภูมิภาค 4 ภาค โดยวิธี Multiple Random Sampling จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 3,163 คน ดำเนินการเก็บข้อมูลระหว่างเดือนมิถุนายน-กรกฎาคม 2557
