งานวิจัยการการวิเคราะห์พื้นที่เสี่ยงภัยน้ำท่วม กรณีศึกษาเขตลุ่มน้ำเจ้าพระยา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์หาพื้นที่เสี่ยงต่อการเกิดน้ำท่วม ปัจจัยที่นำมาวิเคราะห์ในงานวิจัยนี้มี 9 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ ปริมาณน้ำฝน พื้นที่น้ำท่วมในอดีต ความลาดชันของพื้นที่ ความสูงของภูมิประเทศ การระบายน้ำของดิน ขนาดพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำย่อย ความหนาแน่นของลำน้ำ ความหนาแน่นของเส้นทางคมนาคม และการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดิน กระบวนการวิเคราะห์อาศัยกระบวนการให้ค่าถ่วงน้ำหนักแต่ละปัจจัยและการซ้อนทับของชั้นข้อมูลเชิงพื้นที่ ผลลัพธ์พื้นที่เสี่ยงต่อการเกิดน้ำท่วมที่ได้ ถูกแบ่งเป็น 4 ระดับ คือ พื้นที่เสี่ยงระดับมาก พื้นที่เสี่ยงระดับปานกลาง พื้นที่เสี่ยงระดับน้อย และพื้นที่ที่ไม่มีความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดน้ำท่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า เขตพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำเจ้าพระยามีพื้นที่เสี่ยงต่อการเกิดน้ำท่วมระดับมาก ประมาณ 9,027 ตารางกิโลเมตร หรือประมาณร้อยละ 44.55 ของพื้นที่ทั้งเขตลุ่มน้ำเจ้าพระยา ข้อมูลที่ได้จากการวิเคราะห์ถูกนำเสนอเป็นรายงานและแผนที่ เพื่อที่จะได้เป็นข้อมูลเบื้องต้นในการสนับสนุนและเฝ้าระวังน้ำท่วมในพื้นที่เสี่ยงต่อไป
