วัดไพรพัฒนา อดีตเป็นที่พำนักหลวงปู่สรวง เจ้าอาวาสวัดพระนักปฏิบัติ ที่มีชื่อเสียงไปทั่วจังหวัดศรีสะเกษและจังหวัดใกล้เคียง ด้วยความมีเมตตาบารมีช่วยเหลือผู้ตกทุกข์ได้ยากจนเป็นที่รักและศรัทธาของผู้คน หลวงปู่สรวงได้ละสังขาร เมื่อวันที่ ๘ กันยายน ๒๕๔๒ ซึ่งสังขารของท่านยังอยู่ในสภาพเดิม ลูกศิษย์และศาสนิกชนจึงให้บรรจุสังขารของท่านลงในโลงแก้วและตั้งไว้ ณ ศาลาออยเตียนสรูล เพื่อให้ผู้ศรัทธาได้กราบไหว้ต่อไป
นอกจากนี้ลูกศิษย์และศาสนิกชนที่ศรัทธาและนับถือหลวงปู่สรวง ได้ร่วมแรงร่วมใจกันสร้างมณฑปปราสาทหลวงปู่สรวง มณฑปที่สร้างเป็นศิลปะขอมเพื่อให้เข้ากับสภาพท้องถิ่น โดยเป็นศูนย์รวมความหมายของพระรัตนตรัยทั้ง ๓ เช่น หน้าบันสี่ทิศประดิษฐานรูปเหมือนหลวงปู่สรวง หมายถึงอริยสัจสี่ หน้ามุข ๓ ชั้น หมายถึง พระรัตนตรัย และยอดปรางค์ ๙ ชั้น หมายถึง โลกุตรธรรม ๙ เพื่อเป็นพุทธบูชาแด่หลวงปู่สรวง
