1. ผู้วิจัยได้ใช้นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนเทศบาล 2 อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดกาญจนบุรีเป็นประชากรในการทำวิจัย ซึ่งผู้วิจัยได้ทำการฝึกสอนที่นี่เป็นเวลา 2 สัปดาห์ในระหว่างวันที่ 23-27 มกราคม ถึงวันที่ 3-7 กุมภาพันธ์ 2557
2. ผู้วิจัยได้ทดสอบทักษะการพูดภาษาอังกฤษก่อนการใช้กิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ (Pre -test) ด้วยแบบสัมภาษณ์ที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น
3. บันทึกคะแนนทักษะการพูดของนักเรียนแต่ละคนตามเกณฑ์การประเมินทักษะการพูดภาษาอังกฤษของสำนักทดสอบทางการศึกษา กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ
4. ดำเนินการสอนนักเรียนสัปดาห์ละ 2คาบ คาบละ 1 ชั่วโมง จำนวน 2 สัปดาห์ รวมทั้งสิ้น 4คาบซึ่งการเรียนการสอนนั้น ได้ดำเนินการโดยใช้กิจกรรมบทบาทสมมติ
5. หลังสิ้นสุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ครบทั้ง 2แผน ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการทดสอบทักษะการพูดของนักเรียนอีกครั้ง (Post - test)
6. ให้คะแนนผลทดสอบทักษะการพูดภาษาอังกฤษตามเกณฑ์การประเมินของสำนักทดสอบทางการศึกษา กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ
7. รวบรวมข้อมูลและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลตามวิธีการทางสถิติ
