เกาหลีใต้จ่อสั่งนำเข้าไก่สด หลังระงับนาน 11 ปี อีกทั้งได้อานิสงส์ยกเลิกนำเข้าจากสหรัฐฯ จากการระบาดไข้หวัดนก ทำให้เป็นโอกาสของไทย คาดดันส่งออกไก่สดเพิ่มปีละ 4 หมื่นตัว

เมื่อวันที่ 9 ก.พ. นายปีติพงศ์ พึ่งบุญ ณ อยุธยา รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ ระบุ ไทยจะสามารถส่งออกไก่สดแช่แข็งไปยังเกาหลีใต้อีกครั้งในเดือน มิ.ย.นี้ หลังจากถูกระงับมาตั้งแต่ปี 2547 หรือ 11 ปีมาแล้ว โดยทางกระทรวงเกษตรอาหาร และกิจการชนบทของเกาหลีใต้ อนุญาตให้นำเข้าไก่สดไทย หลังจากผ่านการประเมินความเสี่ยง โดยขั้นตอนต่อไปนี้จะมีการร่างเงื่อนไขการส่งออกร่วมกับกรมปศุสัตว์ รวมถึงการตรวจสอบรับรองโรงเชือด และโรงชำแหละไก่ เพื่อการผลิตและการส่งออกไปยังเกาหลีใต้

ทั้งนี้ เมื่อเดือน ธ.ค.ปีที่แล้ว เกาหลีใต้ได้สั่งห้ามนำเข้าไก่มีชีวิต และไก่สดแช่เย็น แช่แข็งจากสหรัฐฯ เพราะการระบาดของโรคไข้หวัดนก จึงถือเป็นโอกาสของผู้ประกอบการไทยที่จะเข้าถึงตลาดเกาหลีใต้ ซึ่งไก่ที่ส่งจากประเทศไทยนั้น ใช้ระยะเวลาการขนส่งน้อยกว่า จะช่วยลดต้นทุนผู้นำเข้า เบื้องต้นคาดว่าจะทำให้ไทยมีตลาดส่งออกไก่สดเพิ่มอีกปีละ 4 หมื่นตัว จากเดิมที่เคยส่งได้เฉพาะไก่ปรุงสุกปีละ 2.3 หมื่นตัน และในปี 2558 คาดว่า ไทยจะส่งออกไก่เพิ่มได้ 6 แสนตัน เพิ่มจากปี 2557 ที่ได้ส่งออกที่ 5.6 แสนตัน เติบโตขึ้นที่ 6-7% มูลค่าไม่ต่ำกว่า 8 หมื่นล้านบาท
