สภาพภูมิอากาศโดยทั่วไปของอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสก เป็นแบบฝนเมืองร้อนเฉพาะฤดู (Tropical Savanna Climate) ลมมรสุมที่พัดผ่านแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ ระหว่างเดือนพฤษภาคมถึงเดือนกันยายนจะมีฝนตกชุก เนื่องจากได้รับอิทธิพลของลมมรสุมตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ และช่วงตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคมถึงเดือนธันวาคมฝนที่ตกลงมาเนื่องจากอิทธิพลของลมมรสุมตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ฤดูแล้งเริ่มตั้งแต่เดือนมกราคมถึงเมษายน ในช่วงระยะนี้ลมมรตะวันออกเฉียงเหนืออ่อนกำลังลง มีลมมรสุมตะวันออกเฉียงใต้พัดมาแทนที่ ทำให้อากาศร้อนและอุณหภูมิสูงขึ้นเล็กน้อย มีฝนตกบ้างไม่มากนัก กรมอุตุนิยมวิทยา ในคาบ 33 ปี (พ.ศ.2504-2538) พบว่าอุณหภูมิเฉลี่ยตลอดปี 26.4 องศาเซลเซียส โดยมีอุณหภูมิสูงสุดเฉลี่ย 27.9 องศาเซลเซียส ในเดือนเมษายน และอุณหภูมิต่ำสุดเฉลี่ย 25.0 องศาเซลเซียส ในเดือนมกราคม ความชื้นสัมพัทธ์เฉลี่ยตลอดปีอยู่ในช่วงร้อยละ 8.3 ปริมาณน้ำฝนเฉลี่ยทั้งปีอยู่ในช่วง 1,635.5 มิลลิเมตร
