พระยาพิศณุประสาทเวช (คง  ถาวรเวช) 

พระยาพิศณุประสาทเวช (คง  ถาวรเวช)  เกิดเมื่อ  พ.ศ.๒๓๙๖  ประวัติในวัยเยาว์ของท่านไม่ปรากฏรายละเอียด  แต่จากหนังสือนิทานโบราณคดี  เรื่อง  “ตั้งโรงพยาบาล”  สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ  กรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพ  ทรงเล่าไว้ว่า  “หมอคง”  เคยเป็นศิษย์ของพระยาประเสริฐศาสตร์ธำรง (หนู  วรกิจพิศาล)  ซึ่งเป็นหมอที่มีชื่อเสียงได้รับพระมหากรุณาธิคุณให้เป็นแพทย์ใหญ่ประจำโรงพยาบาลศิริราช  (โรงพยาบาลวังหลัง)  พระยาประเสริฐศาสตร์ธำรงได้คัดเลือก “หมอคง”  ให้เป็นหมองรองประจำโรงพยาบาล
