โดยการจัดแสดงเทศกาลโคมไฟสีสันเมืองใต้ ครั้งที่ 7 (Hatyai Lantern Festival) จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 24 ธันวาคม 2555 - 30 เมษายน2556 โดยเปิดให้บริการทุกวัน ตั้งแต่เวลา 17.00 - 21.00 น. ณ สวนสาธารณะเทศบาลนครหาดใหญ่ เปิดให้ ชมฟรี พื้นที่จัดแสดงเริ่มต้นจากบริเวณหน้าลานพระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์รัชกาลที่5 จนถึงบริเวณเชิงสะพานศาลากลางน้ำ

ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นการจัดโซนการแสดงในพื้นที่ใหม่ เพื่อรองรับการนำเสนอโคมไฟสีสันในหลากหลายรูปแบบที่แปลกตากว่าในทุกๆ ปีที่ผ่านมา อาทิ การแสดงโคมสีโคมไฟสไตล์จื้อกง โคมไฟสไตล์จีน โคมไฟสไตล์ญี่ปุ่น และโคมไฟสไตล์อิตาลี ซึ่งแบ่งการจัดแสดงในรูปแบบต่างๆ อาทิ ซุ้มประตูมังกรสวรรค์ , ปิรามิตแห่งคชสาร , มั่งมีศรีสุข เหลือกินเหลือใช้(ปลาหลีฮืออัน) , บุตรมังกรทั้ง9 , ฮกลกซิ่วเทพเจ้าแห่งความสมบูรณ์ , โคมร้อยสกุลแซ่ , หิมพานต์เหรา(พญานาคมีขา) ,พระพิฆเนศวร ,กวนอิมข้ามสมุทร , รถม้าแห้งเทพ ฯลฯ
