ขอบเขตวิชาชีพพยาบาล
จากพรบ.วิชาชีพการพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์ฉบับปรับปรุงแก้ไข ฉบับที่ 2 พ.ศ. 2540 ได้มีการกำหนดขอบเขตของการปฏิบัติงานไว้ในมาตรา 4 ดังนี้
“การพยาบาล” หมายความว่า การกระทำของมนุษย์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการดูแลช่วยเหลือเมื่อยามเจ็บป่วย การฟื้นฟูสภาพ การป้องกันโรค และการส่งเสริมสุขภาพ
“การประกอบวิชาชีพการพยาบาล” หมายความว่า การปฏิบัติหน้าที่ การพยาบาลต่อบุคคล ครอบครัวและชุมชน ในการกระทำต่อไปนี้
