การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ(Qualitative research) มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการดำเนินงานด้านการบริหารทรัพยากรมนุษย์ในศูนย์ Laboratory Service Center ของบริษัท พีทีที โกลบอล เคมีคอล จำกัด (มหาชน) 2) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาสมรรถนะของบุคลากร (Competency Based) และความก้าวหน้าในสายอาชีพ (Career Path) ด้วยการฝึกอบรมเฉพาะทางในศูนย์ Laboratory Service Center ของบริษัท พีทีที โกลบอล เคมีคอล จำกัด (มหาชน) โดยมีผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลักเป็นพนักงานระดับผู้จัดการ 1 คน และ พนักงานระดับหัวหน้าส่วนงาน 2 คน ได้มาโดยวิธีการศึกษาเฉพาะกรณี (Case Study Approach) ซึ่งเครื่องมือที่ใช้การศึกษา ได้แก่ การสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก การวิเคราะห์เอกสาร และการสังเกตแบบมีส่วนร่วม
