ในการเป็นหัวหน้างานที่ดีนั้น จะต้องมีความรู้และทักษะต่างๆ ประกอบมากมาย หลายๆ องค์กรสร้างเป็น Competency ขึ้นมา ที่เราเรียกกันว่า Managerial Competency ซึ่งเป็นสมรรถนะสำหรับพนักงานที่เป็นหัวหน้าจำเป็นจะต้องมี ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่ก็จะเป็นเรื่องของ ภาวะผู้นำ การมองการณ์ไกล การแก้ไขปัญหาและการตัดสินใจ ฯลฯ แต่เท่าที่ผมได้สัมผัสกับ Managerial Competency ของแต่ละองค์กรที่เข้าไปให้คำปรึกษานั้น ไม่เคยเห็น Competency ในเรื่องของการสร้างแรงจูงใจให้กับพนักงานเลย
