การจัดการเรียนการสอนในปัจจุบันในการฝึกทักษะการพูดยังไม่ประสบผลสาเร็จเท่าที่ควร เด็กไทยยังไม่สามารถนาภาษาอังกฤษไปใช้ในสถานการณ์จริงได้ (กรมวิชาการ. 2542:1) เนื่องจากผู้เรียนส่วนใหญ่ไม่ได้รับการฝึกฝนให้ใช้ทักษะภาษาอังกฤษอย่างอัตโนมัติ (Automated Basic Skill) ดังที่ Ellen D.
