เมื่อวันที่ 3 ก.ค. นางนันทวัลย์ ศกุนตนาค อธิบดีกรมส่งเสริมการค้าระหว่างประเทศ เปิดเผยภายหลังการหารือกับสมาคมอาหารทะเลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการส่งออก ได้แก่ สมาคมอาหารแช่เยือกแข็งไทย สมาคมอุตสาหกรรมทูน่า สมาคมผู้ผลิตปลาป่นไทย ว่า จากการหารือตัวแทนภาคส่งออกที่เกี่ยวข้องกับอาหารทะเลตามนโยบายของพล.อ.ฉัตรชัย สาริกัลยะ รมว.พาณิชย์ ที่ให้หามาตรการช่วยเหลือผู้ส่งออกที่อาจได้รับผลกระทบจากการแก้ไขเรือประมง ผิดกฎหมาย พบว่าภาคเอกชนเห็นด้วยกับแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาเรือประมงของรัฐบาล และการส่งออกอาหารทะเลของไทย ไม่ได้รับผลกระทบจากการหยุดเดินเรือในครั้งนี้ โดยเฉพาะปลาทูน่า ที่ไทยส่งออกมากเป็นอันดับ 1 เพราะวัตถุดิบที่นำมาใช้เกือบทั้งหมดนำเข้าจากต่างประเทศ หรือนำเข้าปลาทูน่าปีละ 800,000-900,000 ตัน ไม่ได้ใช้วัตถุดิบในประเทศ
