อุปกรณ์ Master ต้องขอเริ่มการสื่อสารด้วยการสร้าง Reset pulse ก่อน เมื่ออุปกรณ์ Slave ได้รับ Reset pulse ก็จะสร้าง Presence pulse เพื่อตอบรับการขอเริ่มการสื่อสารนั้น
