ผศ.รุ่งรัตน์ ทองสกุล ประธานสาขาวิชาภาษาไทยเพื่อการสื่อสาร คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ นำ คณะ อาจารย์และนักศึกษา จัด “ค่ายรักษ์ภาษาไทย” ณ โรงเรียนอบจ.บ้านตลาดเหนือ (วันครู 2502) ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมที่จัดขึ้นเพื่อฝึกให้นักเรียนเห็นความสำคัญของการใช้ภาษาไทยให้ถูกต้อง และสร้างความตระหนักให้กับเยาวชนไทยรู้จักอนุรักษ์ภาษาไทยมากขึ้น
โดยภายในค่ายจัดกิจกรรมให้ความรู้ภาคบรรยาย และฐานการเรียนรู้ ได้แก่ ฐานที่ 1 อ่านออกเสียงทำนองเสนาะ ฐานที่ 2 เรียบเรียงถ้อยคำสื่อความหมาย และฐานที่ 3 หลากหลายครบรสในบทประพันธ์ ซึ่งได้สอดแทรกเนื้อหาเข้ากับกิจกรรมอย่างสนุกสนาน ทั้งการอ่านร้อยแก้ว การกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ การแต่งกลอนสุภาพ การอ่านกลอนสุภาพ การเล่านิทาน การแต่งกาพย์ยานี 11 และกาพย์ฉบัง 16 การอ่านโคลงสี่สุภาพ การแต่งโคลงสี่สุภาพ การเขียนเรียงความ และกิจกรรม “ดันดาราค้นหาซุปตาร์ภาษาไทย” ซึ่งเป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนได้รับการฝึกทักษะการใช้ภาษาไทยในโอกาสต่าง ๆ พร้อมทั้งเรียนรู้หลักภาษาที่ถูกต้องไปในตัว โดยในครั้งนี้มีนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาให้ความสนใจเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกว่า 90 คน เมื่อวันที่ 2-3 สิงหาคม 2557 โรงเรียนอบจ.บ้านตลาดเหนือ (วันครู 2502)
