เพื่อให้ประชาชน พ่อแม่ผู้ปกครอง ตระหนักถึงพิษภัยและโทษของยาเสพติด และช่วยกันคุ้มครอง สร้างความรัก ความอบอุ่นให้กับครอบครัวเพื่อเป็นการไม่ให้เยาวชนไทยติดยาเสพติดปัจจุบัน มีผู้ติดยาเสพติดเป็นจำนวนมาก โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มเยาวชนจะติดยาเสพติดมากกว่ากลุ่มคนกลุ่มอื่น และที่น่าเป็นห่วงกำลังแพร่ระบาดสู่เด็กนักเรียนวัย 9 ขวบ 10 ขวบ
สาเหตุอาจเป็นเพราะถูกเพื่อนชักจูงให้ลองเสพ อยากรู้ อยากลอง ถูกล่อลวง และสาเหตุสำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งคือการขาดความอบอุ่นในครอบครัว ปัญหาพ่อแม่หย่าร้างกัน ผู้ใหญ่ไม่ได้สนใจดูแลหรือเป็นที่พึ่งของเด็กได้ เด็กเกิดความว้าเหว่ไม่รู้จะปรึกษาใคร เลยหันไปหายาเสพติด หรือเป็นเป้าล่อให้กับผู้ไม่ปรารถนาดีอย่างพอดี

ทำให้สุขภาพทรุดโทรมอ่อนแอ ความจำเสื่อม เสียบุคลิกภาพ และปัญหาสำคัญที่ตามมาอีกประการหนึ่ง ก็คือผู้ติดยาเสพติดชนิดฉีดเข้าเส้นมีโอกาสติดเชื้อไวรัสเอดส์และแพร่กระจายไปยังกลุ่มผู้ผลิตยาเสพติดด้วยกัน รวมไปถึงคนกลุ่มอื่น ๆ ด้วย
