โครงการค่ายอาสาพัฒนาชนบท เรียกสั้นๆ ว่า “ค่ายอาสา” เป็นกลุ่มกิจกรรมที่มุ่งเน้นให้นักศึกษาได้บำเพ็ญประโยชน์ต่อสังคม โดยการอาสาออกไปจัดตั้งค่ายในหมู่บ้านที่มีความขาดแคลนด้านอาคารเรียน ของโรงเรียนประจำหมู่บ้าน มีปัญหาด้านเศรษฐกิจ กฎหมาย สาธารณสุขและการศึกษา เป็นต้น กิจกรรมสำคัญที่ดำเนินคือการช่วยเหลือและแก้ไขปัญหาด้านต่างๆ ดังกล่าวให้กับชาวชนบท โดยเน้นการพัฒนาความรู้เพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของตนเองและหมู่บ้านไปสู่แนวทางของการพัฒนาแบบยั่งยืนและพึ่งตนเองได้ในอนาคต แนวคิดหลักของ “ค่ายอาสา” คือการเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้ฝึกฝนตนเอง เรียนรู้ภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นและตระหนักถึงปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมไทย พร้อมที่จะใช้กำลังความรู้ ความสามารถเพื่อแก้ไขและบำเพ็ญประโยชน์แก่สังคม ดังอุดมการณ์หรือจิตวิญญาณที่ว่า “ฉันรักธรรมศาสตร์…เพราะธรรมศาสตร์สอนให้ฉันรักประชาชน”
